Information about the Paging System

1. From the med student gateway, click on "Paging" or follow this link
2. Type in "peer" into the search bar (it will come up as "Peer Mentoring")
3. Click on the pager # (i.e. 37586) or the number of the person it is being forwarded to.
4. Type your message at the bottom under the NON-CLINICAL page. Make sure to include your name and return phone number or email. If you send a page without your contact information you will not be reached out to. If you accidentally send a page without your contact info, just send another non-clinical page explaining the previous message was from you and add your contact information!

Staff counselors are here to help medical students with their career development and their personal needs. Counselors serve as the student's first contact for any questions to the Office of Medical Student Education.

Medical Student Disability Services

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
CAPS After-hours urgent support: 734-764-8312 (option 0) | Offers counseling and reference information about mental health. CAPS is a FREE University resource for enrolled students

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-TALK (8255) Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES)

 Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) provides emergency/urgent walk-in evaluation and crisis phone services available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for people of all ages.

 Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center (SAPAC) Phone: 734-764-7771 | 24 hour Crisis Line: 734-936-3333 | Provides free and confidential intervention and/or support for survivors of sexual assault, relationship violence, or sexual harassment.

Psychological Clinic
The University Psychological Clinic provides psychoeducational evaluations and evidence-based psychotherapy to students and faculty at the University of Michigan as well as members of the local community and southeast Michigan.

Medical School Mental Health Program

The MSMHP provides students with confidential psychiatric evaluations, time-limited evidence-based treatment, and referrals to external, community-based therapists and psychiatrists for long-term management if needed. All evaluations are done by faculty psychiatrists with no trainee involvement, and the program is currently staffed by Drs. Kate Baker and Karla Blackwood.
